Dr. Allison Fitch
Director of the PAW LAB
Dr. Fitch is the director of the PAW Lab and an Assistant Professor of Psychology at RIT. Her research concerns the inter-relationships between the developing visual cognitive system and language acquisition. She is particularly interested in questions that expand our understanding of how joint attention contributes (or doesn't contribute!) to language acquisition. She primarily addresses these questions in infant and toddler populations, particularly deaf children acquiring American Sign Language. When not in the lab, she enjoys running, hiking, and spending time with her family (including two cats, Tortilla and Arnold).
